Bettie J. Doering, 88, of Janesville, WI passed away at her home Friday, March 4, 2011 surrounded by her family. Bettie was born on June 25, 1922 in Magnolia township, Rock County, Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Mary (Arner) Millard. She graduated from Evansville High School in 1940. Bettie married Gordon Doering on May 18, 1946. She was formerly employed by Bell Telephone Company for 6 years and later by Sears for 19 years. Bettie was a very active member of First Baptist Church where she had served in various capacities and offices over the years. She also volunteered at the Wilson School Breakfast Club, with Meals On Wheels and the Mercy Hospital Volunteers.

Surviving are 2 sons, Donald Doering of Las Vegas, NV, Bruce (Linda) Doering of Janesville, 1 sister, Mardyth Golz of Janesville, 1 brother, Gerald Millard of Yuma, AZ, 2 granddaughters, Brenda Petitt and Kimberly (Marc) Nickols both of Janesville, 5 great-grandchildren, Cody, Britni, Brady, Andrew and Ashley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Doering on September 13, 2003. She is also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, George Millard, a half-sister, Dorothy Hubert, 2 brothers-in-law including Rollin “Tom” Golz and 3 sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 3414 Woodhall Drive, Janesville . Rev. Jerry Amstutz will officiate. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation times are 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville and at the church Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Assisting the family is Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. www.henkeclarson.com.
